Jesuit Refugee Service is an international Catholic humanitarian organization that works to accompany, serve and advocate for refugees and other forcibly displaced people around the world. It was founded in November 1980 by Fr. Pedro Arrupe SJ of the Society of Jesus in response to the plight of Vietnamese boat people after the Vietnam War.
